Not Just A Trend, A Tradition, Since 1967
Since 1967 La Casa Restaurant has been an institution on the Plaza of Sonoma. Situated across East Spain St. from the Sonoma Mission, it attracts the interest of towns people as well as the large population of visitors.
La Casa Restaurant was begun by Al Gordon 44 years ago. Since then, there have been six owners each bringing to the establishment their own tastes and vision. But it is as if La Casa has a heart of its own. In the 44 years past it has survived as a monument unlike the course of most restaurants which are more like a flame, quick to ignite and quick to burn out. April of 2008 we see an authentic renewal and regeneration coming to the helm of the restaurant.
Sisters, Ana and Marisela, long time Sonoma residents and Latina’s are bringing the smells and tastes found in the Jalisco region of Mexico to La Casa. They are the 6th owners, and the first of Mexican descent. Please, be our guests, enjoy the rich fullness of 44 years of life at La Casa. And experience the new dimension of authentic flavors brought to you by Marisela, Ana, and our Chef Jose Rubio, directly from Mexico.

"With super fresh food (awesome veggies, best shrimp enchiladas ever, tasty beans) and pint glasses of super potent margaritas (happy hour 'til 7pm, wooooooo hooooooooooo) and charming indoor and outdoor seating available, and nice as pie staff, what's not to like?"
- Gwyinne, San Francisco
"This place is just off the Town Square in Sonoma and it's preaty good. They have a bunch of different margaritas and everything we tried was tasty. Most of us had enchiladas. I had the Mexican flag enchiladas which was a different type of enchilada topped with a different type of sauce the colors of..... wait for it.... The Mexican flag.We decided that the chicken enchiladas in the red chili sauce were the best but the salad, tacos and tortilla soup also got the thumbs up. The pomegranate margarita was better than the peach but even that wasn't bad at all. The service was great, we never lacked for anything and the food was brought to the table very quickly. The prices are reasonable too. I'd go here again when I'm in the area."
- Kristen, Napa
"Very surprisingly satisfied lunch. Outstanding margaritas, chips, salsa, guac, and the fish tacos were the best I've had. Granted, I was very hungry going in, but just a great meal. Service was a little slow at the start but the nice outdoor table made it not so bad."
- Tony, San Francisco
"A large group of us showed up last Saturday after visiting not one but three local wineries for tastings. We headed for the patio and consumed a large quantity of margaritas, tequila shots, chips/salsa, and sampler platters. (We had a chartered bus, thank goodness.) Everything was excellent and they were very good natured with us, including the rowdier members of our party. Highly recommended."
